Aussies 33/0 at stumps

The Proteas lost four wickets for 19 runs as Australia wrapped up the tail order on day three of the third and final test in Sydney.

South Africa closed their first innings on 327 all out, although they only lost nine wickets.

Graeme Smith can't return after retiring hurt with a broken hand, which means the Proteas will be missing a batsman in their second innings.

Peter Siddle was the pick of the Aussie bowlers taking 5 for 59 in 27.5 overs.

He bowled Mark Boucher for 89 and Siddle and bowled Morne Morkel for 40.

Australia started their second innings with a 118 run lead.

Dale Steyn opened the bowling with Makhaya Ntini, despite a sore heel.

Vaughn van Jaarsveld was fielding in place of Smith.

After 6 overs, the Aussies raced to 33 for no loss, with a lead of 151 runs at stumps.

Play resumes at 1h00 on Tuesday morning.
