I forgot Greg Oden was a rookie this year. He was ranked #4 on Dave McMenamin's Rookie Rankings.
1. Chris Kaman will be in the olympics- but not for Team USA. He will be playing for Germany.
Kaman has obtained German citizenship, and he will play for Germany with Dirk Nowitzki.
His great-grandparents were German, and he has been talking about playing with Germany since winter.
2. Jazz forward Kyle Korver, Lakers forward Ronny Turiaf, Magic forward-center Pat Garrity, and Suns forward Linton Johnson III traveled to India for "Basketball without Borders".
3. Gilbert Aren! as and the Wizards finally agreed to a deal. It was a 6-year deal that paid him $111 million. Arenas commented, "What can I do for my family with $127 million that I can't do with $111 million?" For those of you that say the Wizards suck with Arenas and they will never make it to the championship game, just think when stars Antawn Jamison, Arenas, and Caron Butler were all healthy during the 06-07 season. They had the best record in the East. They have a pretty good chance.
4. Chris Paul reached an agreement with the Hornets to have a three-year extension with an optional fourth year. He gets $68 million total. Last season, Paul averaged 21.1 points, 11.6 assists, and 2.7 steals while leading the Hornets to a franchise-record 56 wins. He also played his first All-Star game this year.
5. The Rookie Rankings for the rookies this year were posted by Da! ve McMenamin. Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls was 1st, t! hen O.J. Mayo of the Memphis Grizzlies was 2nd, Eric Gordon of the L.A.
